The day has finally come that we gathered together for 2007 IFGF GISI USA, Canada, Europe and Africa Leadership Conference. The LC was held in a beautiful Panama in Los Angeles, CA. Total participants for this LC was 77 people.

The session was opened by Opening Remarks from Pastor Ryanto Sindoro, then followed with first session of the conference by Apostle DR. Budi Hidajat. Apostle Budi Hidajat taught about Strategic Direction for IFGF GISI movement in 2007-2009. He updated every participants of the condition where IFGF GISI is currently and then discussed the plan for 2007-beyond. He emphasized the importance of us relying on God to build His Church, we desperately need to be in-tuned with God. Once we get this taken care of, then we all can rest assured that the future of IFGF GISI is bright.

The night continued with a testimony of Pastor Ndjoli from IFGF GISI Africa, consist of 82 churches in Congo and Uganda. Ps. Ndjoli has been friend with Ps. Caleb and Ps. Herman Soegeng and has heard a lot of great things about Apostle DR. Jimmy Oentoro. He was very glad to finally join the family of IFGF GISI.

Apostle DR. Jimmy Oentoro led the next session discussing Building World Class Leaders and Organization through IFGF GISI and World Harvest. He reminded us to take seriously the mandate we have as steward of God's creation. God gives this big plan to His church, to manage the world that He created and own. Apostle Jimmy Oentoro gave an example how IFGF GISI Keluarga Allah took God’s mandate of One Soul-One Pastor-One Church seriously. They set a clear objective and a road map of how about fulfilling this mandate. In One Soul, they declared to reach one soul every week for all the satellite churches in Jabodetabek area, and every iCare agreed to win one soul every month, then every congregation unite their hearts to win one soul every year. As of One Pastor, IFGF GISI Keluarga Allah declared that every leader needs to raise one new leader every year. And in One Church, every satellite churches agreed to plant one new church every year.

The session continued with doing benchmark with The Starbucks Experience. Then he emphasized on the importance for every believers to experience the 4 dimension of God’s love in Christ. Furthermore, he stressed on the importance for IFGF GISI to possess the gateway cities though Strong Leadership Team, Financial Accountability, Center of Mobilization, Equipping & Training Center, and Sending Agent. Apostle Jimmy Oentoro closed the session with an important note that each one of us has to go back to our love to Jesus Christ. When we are in love, Impossible is Nothing. He then continued with a reflection from Mother Theresa. Her love towards God and His people enables her to do and to become who she is known for.

The second day of the conference started with a devotional from Pastor Henry Suhadi. He reminded the pitfalls in ministry: seeing ministry just like a routine, not able to handle the pressure in ministry, and the intimidation in ministry. The keys to avoid these pitfalls are: we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit every day, be in a corporate unity, and to have a teachable heart.

Dr. Berin Gillfilan, the president and CEO of ISoM, spoke on the next session. He said we have to turn every local church into a training center that can send people out to train others and plant new churches. The church needs to do its part to train people and God will do His part to bring growth and multiplication. He reminded every leader not to beat fellow servants, and to watch his personal integrity. It is very important for every leader to have a servant hood lifestyle and to keep his focus straight, which is to develop the greatest asset of every leader, who is people.

Apostle DR. Jimmy Oentoro spoke on the next session. He reminded that church planting the most effective ways to reach the unreached people. He then continued with 5 principles that we can learn from The Starbucks Experience. Those principles are: Make It Your Own, Everything Matters, Surprise and Delight, Embrace Resistance, and Leave Your Mark.

The following day of conference started with Pastor Harminto Ongko leading the morning devotional. He stressed on the power of the Word of God. The Word brings order in the life of people. So as leaders, we need to have the Word of God in our lives and ministry. He closed with a reminder to make Scripture memorization as our lifestyle.

The next session was led by Apostle DR. Jimmy Oentoro. He taught on Apostolic Denomination and Ministry. The Bible instructs us, “We are all called to travel on the same road in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly” (Ephesians 4:4, The Message). Ephesians 2:19-22 also teaches us that God used apostles and prophets as the foundation of building His house. He continued with the session discussing the call of apostolic, the qualifications of apostle, the purpose of the apostle and apostolic office, the role of apostolic leaders, and the role of apostolic denomination. Apostolic Denomination is about accountability, strong relationship and fellowship.

Pastor Sugi introduced the welfare plan for all pastors which is 403(b) in the next session. The conference continued with Pastor Christopher Chan presenting the plan for International Ministry.Department for 2007-2009. The overall strategies are: Harvest Festival, Pastors’ Seminar, Translating Dream Church into native language, Recruitment, PIT, Incorporation, translating materials into native language, PESTA (strategic planning). He explained Acts 1:8 as Jerusalem = local mission, Judea = regional mission
Samaria = local & regional cross-culture mission.

Apostle Handoyo Gunawan continued the conference by emphasizing the importance for every pastor and leader to be attached with God. And we need to rely totally and fully to the Lord and keep the Holy Spirit flowing in our lives and ministries. He also stressed the importance to keep our integrity as the minister of the Gospel. In case of temptation, we need to flee from it.

The next itinerary was LA City Tour. We all went out together in one bus with Mr. Buche as our tour guide. Every one was entertained by his stories. We spent some time in Hollywood, especially visiting the Kodak Theater, the place where the Oscar Awards will be presented this coming Sunday. We had a great fellowship time in the bus as well as in Hollywood.

After the tour, we arrived at World Harvest Center, the home of IFGF GISI Arcadia. We had the privilege touring the facilities and were blessed seeing the creative avenues that God gave to the leadership of IFGF GISI Arcadia to reach their community. Every one was inspired by touring the World of Learning and the Children Church of IFGF GISI Arcadia. A great dinner prepared by IFGF GISI Arcadia came next. And the session continued with Ps. Michael & the team leading P&W. Then we are encouraged and strengthened by testimonies from Jeannie. God answered her prayer, after longing for 10 years for an Indonesian church, through IFGF GISI Sweden. Ps. Jerry & Ps. Wilma also testified and reminded us to see, and to feel the way Jesus sees and feels.

The night continued with the message from Apostle Danny Hanafi. He encouraged us that God will give us creative ideas that fit our people, our situation, our need, and our church. The church needs to open up our eyes to see the needs of the community and pray to ask God to give us creative ideas so we can be a blessing for our community. His message that night was “It is my time for increase”, where he discussed the five principles of increase. Those five principles are: decide it is time, receive a new vision, build your faith by action and meditation, declare your confession, and determine to grow in the areas of wisdom, stature, favor.

The last day of LC started with Morning Devotion by Pastor Somi Pranoto. He reminded us the question that Apostle DR Jimmy Oentoro always asks “What kind of church do you want to build?” The Bible teaches us about the church that God wants to build is the church that cares for one another. This care does not only come from one particular individual, but it is the care that is flowing from all the members from one to another. We need to build a church that connects from one another.

Apostle DR. Budi Hidajat led the next session discussing local churches adopting nations of the world. The result were Austin adopting Romania, Atlanta adopting India, Seattle adopting Pakistan, East Coast adopting Suriname, Brazil, Central adopting South America, Philadelphia adopting Russia, San Francisco adopting Philippines, New York adopting Costa Rica, Pinole adopting Nepal, Ps.
